Travelers for Open Land is pleased to welcome the Great Northern Bed & Breakfast in Chester, Montana as a new participating businesses in the Travelers program. The Great Northern B&B is directly adjacent to the recording studio of Grammy nominated pianist and composer Philip Aaberg.
Nice article in the Billings Gazette highlights a conservation easement on the Cornwell Ranch in northeastern Montana. Travelers for Open Land helped fund this project. The easement conserves ag lands, grasslands and wildlife habitat on property that's part of the FWP Block Management Program.
The Bearclaw Bakery and family of Bearclaw services/businesses in Cooke City are the newest businesses to join the Travelers for Open Land program. The Bearclaw Bakery (Coffee's on at 5:00 AM) is located at 309 E. Main, next to the Super 8. Thanks to Terri Smith and the Bearclaw folks for joining Travelers for Open Land. Congratulations and welcome aboard to the Super 8 Motel in Cooke City as a new participant in the Travelers for Open Land program. The Cooke City Super 8 is located at 303 Main Street in Cooke City, not far from the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Managers John White and Sue Lane are enthusiastic supporters of the Travelers program and welcome folks to Cooke City and Super 8.

2010 is shaping up as an excellent summer for Travelers for Open Land. There's more interest in - and support for - the program, early summer tourist numbers look good, and recent articles in the Great Falls Tribune showcased great optimism for 2010 from bed and breakfast folks and "totally optimistic" local tourism industry leaders.
