Two fun Open Land Month events today, July 30. At noon Gallatin Valley Land Trust's Discovery Walks series features the Story Mill History in Bozeman. Western Media Summit Discusses Value of Open Land

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership's Western Media Summit starts today in Bozeman. An array of journalists will learn about the economic importance of tourism, Montana's outdoor recreation industry, recreational access, private land conservation, Montana Open Land Month and more. Tuesday morning, July 28, Gallatin Valley Land Trust will lead a tour of the Oyler Conservation Easement (seen here).

Five Valleys Land Trust Honors Supporters During Montana Open Land Month Event

Five Valleys Land Trust Board President Amber Sherrill, FVLT Executive Director Grant Kier (right) honor The Nature Conservancy and Richard Jeo (second from right) and Missoula Mayor John Engen at a July 8 Montana Open Land Month event at Marshall Mountain. Over 250 people turned out for the FVLT community event, which featured local food and brews, games for kids, music and more. Both Jeo/TNC and Engen were honored for their support of Missoula area open land conservation.

Big Day for Montana Open Land Month In Missoula County

Governor Bullock visits the Confluence Property at Rock Creek today at 2:00 PM as part of Montana Open Land Month. Five Valleys Land Trust and the Governor will tour the property, and FVLT will thank Governor Bullock for his supportive role in the project. Five Valleys Land Trust is also throwing a hoedown on Marshall Mountain at 5:00 PM to celebrate Montana Open Land Month. And today the Missoula County Commission will proclaim July 2015 as Montana Open Land Month.
